Choosing the right size is the most important decision when buying a garden house. Too small and it is full after one season; too big and it takes up garden space for nothing. Use this guide as a starting point.
Size by use
- 2 to 3 m²: garden tools, pots and gardening products. See, for example, the dimensions 130 x 200 cm and 180 x 180 cm.
- 4 to 6 m²: lawnmower, bikes and garden furniture. Popular dimensions: 200 x 200 cm, 220 x 220 cm and 236 x 250 cm.
- 8 to 12 m²: large storage, a workshop or a garden office. See the size 236 x 368 cm.
- 15 to 20 m²: a multi-purpose space for storage and leisure, for example the model M337 or the model M333.
Tips for choosing
- Add about 30% to the space you need today: storage tends to grow.
- Check the door width if you are going to store a lawnmower, bikes or a ride-on mower.
- Distinguish external dimensions from usable area: the internal area is always a little smaller.
- Leave free space around the house for assembly and maintenance.
- Ask the local council about the rules for your location before ordering. See our guide to permits for garden houses.
How much does each size cost?
